๐Ÿ Cyprus placed 68th in 2025 Global Peace Index
Cyprus ranks 68th of 163 with an overall score of 1.933, a mid-table position reflecting strong domestic calm and external pressures. No deaths from organised internal or external conflict; terrorism impact negligible; low homicide, violent crime and political unrest. Main drag on ranking is a very high share of refugees and internally displaced people. Militarisation is mixed: above-average defence spending and personnel per capita but minimal heavy weapons and a limited UN peacekeeping role. Cyprus sits below Greece (45th) yet ahead of several neighbouring states.
