🔊 Cyprus and Greece Conduct Joint “SALAMIS-01/26” Exercise with Frigate Kimon
Today, a bilateral exercise titled “SALAMIS-01/26” took place within the Search and Rescue (SAR) responsibility area of the Republic of Cyprus. The drills involved the Hellenic Navy frigate Kimon, a helicopter from the 460th Search and Rescue Squadron of the Cyprus National Guard, as well as a police helicopter.

Operations were coordinated by the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) in Larnaca, working together with the General Staffs of Greece and Cyprus.

The exercise was conducted under the E-D bilateral defense cooperation framework and focused on improving coordination and operational readiness for search and rescue missions in the Eastern Mediterranean.
