πŸ”₯ Nighttime Wildfire Battle in Paphos: Strong Winds Hinder Firefighting, New Front Appears in Hard-to-Reach Area
A large wildfire has broken out between the villages of Koili and Stroumpi in the Paphos district, spreading rapidly due to strong winds. The exact cause of the blaze is still unknown. Fire crews from Paphos and nearby stations, along with the Forestry Department and local response teams, are working at the scene.

Because of the difficult terrain, the fire has moved into a deep ravine that ground forces struggle to access. By evening, three aerial units had stopped operations, and water-drops will resume only at sunrise.

As of 20:00, the fire continues advancing on the northwest side, while a new front is forming in the southeast, also inaccessible to ground crews. Firefighters are creating protective firebreaks and preparing to work through the night to contain the flames.
