๐Ÿ”Š Explosion at โ€œNorthern Cyprusโ€ Substation: Sabotage Suspected and Political Dispute Amid Blackout
In Northern Cyprus, an explosion occurred at a substation, causing prolonged power outages. Prime Minister รœnal รœstel suggested it might have been sabotage and launched an investigation. He also criticized the opposition, accusing them of using the situation for political gain.

The opposition, in turn, accuses the government of incompetence and corruption. They argue that instead of providing real solutions, the authorities are simply looking for scapegoats. The electricity problem raises questions about stability and governance in the region, and if the situation does not improve, it could lead to greater public dissatisfaction.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ Cyprus attracted specialists with citizenship: 208 people in 3 years. 365 are awaiting approval.
As part of the naturalization program for highly qualified foreign specialists, Cyprus granted citizenship to 208 professionals over the past three years. Another 360 applications are pending decision. This was revealed in a response from the Ministry of Interior to a request by MP Alexandra Attalidu.

The Ministry of Interior clarified that the legal basis for this was amendments to Article 111B(2) of the Civil Status Registration Law. The purpose of the program is to employ specialists in niche companies of the Republic of Cyprus. In addition to the specialists themselves, 65 family members received citizenship.

The names of the companies where the naturalized individuals work are not provided in the response, as the MP's request did not require this information, and its disclosure is regulated by the Personal Data Protection Law.

๐Ÿ”Š Investigation into the case of 24 kilograms of cannabis at Paphos airport continues
Paphos police are intensively investigating the case of 24 kilograms of cannabis found in the luggage of a 25-year-old woman arriving from the UK. The packaging of the drugs indicates possible involvement of an organized network rather than an isolated incident.

The woman is in custody, interrogations are being conducted, and a joint investigation with Europol is underway to identify the supply route and accomplices in Cyprus.

Recall that she was arrested on Sunday when customs officers found the drugs in her luggage. A 25-year-old man was also detained in connection with the drug case.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ "Cyprus hits the jackpot! Visa-free travel to the USA โ€“ as early as September? The last bastion of the EU is falling!"
โ–ช September 2025 could permanently erase Cyprus from Europe's "visa pariah" list. Sources assure: Washington is about to give the long-awaited "green light" for visa-free entry of Cypriots into the USA โ€“ a decision is expected literally within weeks.

โ–ช Insiders reveal: technically Cyprus has already outdone itself. The main trump card: the police of both countries now see right through each other. Secret systems for exchanging data about travelers and threats have been launched and are working at full capacity โ€“ this was a key US demand, and Nicosia has brilliantly fulfilled it. The April inspection by American technicians and the June negotiations at the White House found no catch.

โ–ช September finale: Everything depends on the decision of the US Congress. It is there next month that the final recommendation to include Cyprus in the elite Visa Waiver program club will be submitted. If politicians say "Yes," the State Department and the US Department of Homeland Security will promptly process the documents. Visa Verge forecast: the first Cypriots will be able to travel to the States without humiliating visa hassle by the end of 2025 or early 2026! Experts rate the chances as high, but nerves will be on edge until the last moment.

โ–ช The secret of success โ€“ the numbers: Cyprus not only met but smashed the main criterion โ€“ the visa refusal rate. It was required to stay below 3%. The 2024 result? Only 2.16%! Autumn statistics should only consolidate this triumph.

โ–ช Why is this a SENSATION? Cyprus is the last EU island humiliated by visas alongside Romania and Bulgaria. But Romania is a grim example of how everything can collapse at the last moment! It was also set for visa-free travel, but in May the Trump administration vetoed it "for security reasons," leaving Bucharest on the doorstep of the coveted goal. Cyprus must avoid this trap.

โ–ช Double triumph on the horizon: At the same time, Nicosia is racing full speed towards Schengen! Technical preparations (border control, especially the "green line," electronic systems) should be completed by the end of the year.

โ— Soon Cypriots will gain not only freedom of entry to the USA but also the right to travel across Europe without passport control. A historic breakthrough is within reach! Will the island of Aphrodite manage to conquer both peaks? September will tell!

๐Ÿ”Š Kingsley Sarfo, the key signing of Freedom 24 Krasava E.N. Ypsonas, did not make it to Cyprus.

On August 7, border guards turned away the Ghanaian midfielder, citing a secret ban on entry to the Schengen area.

๐Ÿคท Reasons for the ban โ€“ a state secret? Nicosia remains silent.

โ–ช Cyprus, although not in Schengen, strictly enforces its visa restrictions on foreigners. The result โ€“ a failed transfer and a weakened team.

The club owner, Evgeny Savin (Russia), is furious: He is personally fighting to get Sarfo's entry permit. He hopes to break through the bureaucratic wall and resolve the star Ghanaian's paperwork issues in the coming days.

Unanswered questions:
What does Sarfo's dossier hide? Past violations or political games?
Why didn't the club check the risks IN ADVANCE? An expensive scouting mistake?
Will "Krasava" manage to register Sarfo in the squad before the season starts? Time is against them!

The border failure is a harsh lesson for Cypriot football. While Savin storms the offices, the team is left without its main reinforcement. Is the club ready for the season without its star?

๐Ÿ”Š Camping Ban in Cyprus State Forests: Fines and Consequences
The Cyprus Forest Department once again reminds that camping in state forests without prior permission is prohibited. According to the Forestry Law, serious penalties are provided for this violation: imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of up to five thousand euros, or both penalties simultaneously.

In a statement published on Monday, the Department expressed concern about the increase in cases of arbitrary and uncontrolled camping, especially during the summer months. This phenomenon is observed in areas of special ecological significance, such as the Akamas National Forest Park, which is a protected and vulnerable area.

"Illegal camping places additional strain on the sensitive ecosystem, leading to pollution and degradation of the natural environment due to the disposal of garbage and waste. This disrupts the balance of wildlife and the ecosystem," the statement notes.

Particular concern is raised by the fact that illegal campers often light fires, which is strictly prohibited by law. This action endangers both the safety of the campers themselves and the forest resources of the region, as it can lead to catastrophic fires with unpredictable consequences.

The Department emphasizes that lighting fires in rural areas is only allowed in specially designated and equipped places located in organized picnic and camping zones. Lighting fires in state forests or within 2 km of their boundaries is a serious offense, which according to the Forestry Law (amended) 2025 can be punished by imprisonment for up to 12 years or a fine of up to 100,000 euros, or both penalties.

The Department urges all citizens to comply with the rules and reminds that camping in state forests is only allowed in specially designated areas. In case of smoke or fire detection, it is necessary to immediately report by calling 1407 (forest service) or 112 (fire service).
