☀️ Solar canopies proposed over roads in Limassol

Limassol is discussing an initiative to install canopies fitted with solar panels above major roads, stretching from the Omonia area to Germasogeia. Supporters say the project could generate clean electricity, provide shade for motorists and cyclists, and reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.

The proposal suggests starting with a pilot project and carrying out the necessary studies to assess whether existing urban spaces can be used for more sustainable infrastructure.
