😨Worker killed on Nicosia–Limassol highway
New road tragedy Thursday evening. About 19:25 a 37‑year‑old driver of a private car on the Nicosia–Limassol highway, after the village Moni, hit a lighted sliding arrow in the right lane where roadworks were underway and fatally struck 70‑year‑old Savvas Ioannou, who was placing cones to close the lane. The driver suffered minor injuries and is examined in a private hospital; drug and alcohol tests were negative. Traffic police say signage appeared in place and witnesses reported the arrow was lit. No road lighting at scene. Investigation ongoing.
