I. Stefanou: Legal Service must explain handling of witnesses
Ilias Stefanou says the Legal Service must explain how it handled witnesses in the "golden passports" case and the Al Jazeera video. He points out witnesses did not appear, some were suspects granted immunity to testify and others changed statements; these issues need clarification and internal review. He stresses the Attorney General’s appeal is limited to legal points — appeals do not re‑evaluate witness credibility or accept new testimony. Calls for cautious, evidence‑based public comments by lawyers and for authorities to restore public trust through concrete actions, with the AG’s office central.

💸€1bn needed for school repairs; budget €35m
Andreas Marangos told MPs his school construction unit needs about €1 billion to carry out all planned work. Designs ready; project starts hinge on Finance Ministry approvals. 2026 allocation for Education technical services is €35 million, forcing strict prioritisation.

Seismic safety in focus. A programme from 2000 aimed to strengthen 730 school buildings; most done but 78 remain. Once classed low‑risk, some now assessed as so poor they may need demolition and rebuilding. Rising construction costs widen the funding gap and slow progress.

❤️Sometimes humanity is not about words, but about the environment we create
There are videos that last only a few seconds, yet make us reflect more deeply than any long speech. It reminds us of a simple truth: in any society, the most important element is not technology, impressive facades, or loud slogans — it is the human being.

Infrastructure is not just concrete and steel. It is a form of respect. A ramp at the entrance, a safe sidewalk, accessible services — these are the ways a city tells its residents: “You matter.”

The true maturity of a society is measured not by the speed of its development, but by how comfortable and inclusive it is for everyone — regardless of age, health, or circumstances.

To be human means creating spaces where no one feels left out.
