🔞Customs raid in Famagusta finds thousands of counterfeit condoms
23/01/2026 — Following a complaint to the Medical Device Authority, Customs and the authority carried out a joint operation at a retail shop and a warehouse in the Famagusta district.
First inspection: 5,040 condoms and 418 lubricant units of a known brand located and detained; photos and information were passed to the brand's legal representatives to assess possible intellectual property violations.
30/01/2026 — Re-inspection at the warehouse led to seizure of an additional 19,674 condoms of the same brand. The company owner admitted the items were imitations and abandoned them for destruction.
Case under investigation by Larnaca Customs.

😢Larnaca crash: Two discharged, 66‑year‑old intubated
Police probe collision on Yiannou Kranidioti Avenue near traffic‑light junction with Stratigou Timagia around 12:00 Sunday. Germasogeia — Yesterday around 23:30 unknown persons entered a private residence. The occupants, a 34‑year‑old domestic helper and the 86‑year‑old owner, were restrained while the intruders searched the home. Perpetrators removed an amount of cash and various gold jewellery; the value has not yet been estimated. The case is being investigated as conspiracy to commit a felony and residential burglary. 🔊 Armed kiosk robbery in Avgorou, Famagusta district: helmeted man threatened with a hunting rifle and stole cash
Police in the Avgorou area have arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of carrying out a bold kiosk robbery. According to investigators, in the morning the suspect entered a retail kiosk in the Famagusta district wearing a motorcycle helmet and, while threatening staff with a hunting firearm, demanded money from the cash register. After taking the cash, he fled the scene.

Officers from the local police station and the Criminal Investigation Department responded promptly. During the investigation, evidence was gathered pointing to a specific suspect. Later the same evening, the man was located, arrested under a court warrant, and taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing, and the circumstances of the robbery continue to be examined.
