📝SIMAE objects to Unknown Soldier monument at Digenis hideout
SIMAE, Council for Historical Memory of EOKA 1955–59, objects to placing the Cyprus Unknown Soldier monument at the hideout‑tomb of leader Digenis and at the Serin launch site. It asks the Presidency, the Interior Minister and the Minister of Education to intervene and halt the works.

SIMAE says it was surprised by an invitation to the foundation‑stone ceremony on 25 October and notes an Unknown Soldier monument already exists — the Monument of Freedom opposite the Holy Archbishopric, funded by the Archdiocese and created by sculptor Ioannis Notaras, bearing names of leaders and 108 hero‑martyrs of 1955–59.

🚨Revelation: Police leaked entrepreneurs' financial data to underworld
Reports suggest members of the Police passed on firms' and businessmen's financial details to criminal figures. Criminals allegedly use the data to approach company executives and demand "protection" payments. Following multiple incidents, Police leadership issued on May 20 a circular to Police Directors warning to safeguard informants in investigations into proceeds of crime and money laundering. The circular strictly forbids officers from revealing the source or identity of informants and cites specific legal provisions. Authorities must provide physical and legal protection to informants.

🚓Organized crime in Cyprus evolving, "will never be eradicated" — Justice Minister
Marios Charatsiotis (Justice) links rise to foreign elements, calls it imported crime evolving; perpetrators sometimes arrive to act for others. Themistos Arnaoutis and Charatsiotis mapped networks in closed Legal Committee; daylight offences cited, including the murder of Stavros Demosthenous. Andreas Pasiourtidis (AKEL) backs tougher measures; Nikos Georgiou (DISY) says intercepted calls will be court evidence. Steps: special police units, coordinated urban teams, phone‑interception bill under legal review, increased prison raids and proposed criminalisation of mobile phones in custody. 🗣️US: Vance Rejects West Bank Annexation
US Vice President J.D. Vance condemned Knesset talks on bills to annex the West Bank, saying annexation would damage efforts to secure the fragile Gaza ceasefire and calling it "a very foolish political move" and "hubris". Senator Rubio voiced similar criticism. Vance warned disarming Hamas and rebuilding Gaza will be very difficult, ruled out deploying US troops for the international security force and said Washington is seeking other countries to contribute. Hamas refuses disarmament and clashes persist.

📝Ertugruloglu: No peace or energy in East Mediterranean without us
Takhsin Ertugruloglu, acting foreign minister of the breakaway north, says the federal solution is exhausted after 60+ years and Cyprus is now a "status problem." He states the island's reality is two states, each governed by its own people, and only an agreement between two sovereign equal states is viable. He criticises isolation of the TRNC and international concession to Greek Cypriot pressure as a historic mistake. TRNC, he says, was founded on democracy and rule of law. Peace and hydrocarbon exploitation in the East Med require full participation of the TRNC and Turkey; any formula excluding them is impossible and Turkish Cypriot rights are non‑negotiable.

Cyprus Presidency will keep Ukraine a priority; the President will visit Ukraine in December and reaffirmed support for its EU accession under established procedures.
