Turkish think tank: Israel consolidates presence in Cyprus, challenges Ankara
East Mediterranean shifts: Israel–Cyprus–Greece cooperation grows from occasional ties to a permanent military, energy and intelligence network, says Turkish think tank SETA.
Deployment of Barak MX air-defence and access to Cypriot bases turns the island into a monitoring and leverage point against Turkey.
Around 20,000 Israelis buying property and securing residency seen as soft power with possible demographic and political effects.
Barak MX plus ELM-2084 radar extend surveillance nearly 500 km, covering the Eastern Mediterranean.
Triangle sidelines Turkey from regional energy plans; Ankara seeks counterweights via Egypt and Libya.

😎What We Think We Know
Traveler in ancient Athens tells Democritus about future: cars, planes, thinking machines. Democritus asks how they work; speaker cannot explain. Lesson: humans overestimate understanding — the "illusion of explanatory depth".

Everyday items and big problems fool us: zippers, housing markets, traffic. Simple fixes often fail; more roads can bring more drivers.

Test knowledge: explain to a child, ask "How?" not only "Why?". John Snow traced cholera to a pump by asking how; ask deeper, admit what you don't know.
