Ustel: Turkey’s guarantee will never be abandoned
Ustal says Turkey’s guarantee for the honored future of Turkish Cypriots will never be abandoned and repeats that the federation chapter is closed. He argues federation implies no guarantor and thus disappearance for Cypriot Turks; guarantee equals a two‑state solution. Our path is two states on sovereign equality with Turkey’s steadfast support, he adds. Erdogan’s remarks are historic; Turkey’s guarantor rights under international law and UN resolutions are not negotiable. Previous federation plans rejected Turkey’s guarantee; a solution without Turkey means insecurity and abandonment to Greek Cypriots.
