😳Government condemns attack on DIPA offices in Limassol
Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis calls the attack and vandalism a direct assault on democracy. In a post on X after DIPA filed a complaint, he said such acts are not political expression but violent deeds that undermine democratic dialogue and institutions. "Disagreements are expressed with words and arguments, not with destruction," he wrote. Authorities are investigating to assign responsibility. DIKO also condemned the incident, saying violence and vigilantism are no solution. DIPA filed a report; video of the vandals circulated.

Caves of the Seven St. Georges — Hidden treasure in Geroskipou
GEROSKIPOU SW — Seven carved caves and seven chapels dedicated to the Seven St. Georges dot a rocky plateau on the municipality's southwest side. The rock-cut complex and ancient chamber tombs record long-standing habitation and deep local spirituality. A chapel of St. George is hewn inside a huge rock; beside it a natural cave with a spring adds a sacred atmosphere. Two wooden ladders ease visitor access. The site blends pilgrimage with hiking and scenic strolls. An underground passage beside the chapel leads to the holy spring under St. Paraskevi church in the town square.

⚡️Paliometocho: Tens of thousands in appliances damaged by wrong voltage
Giorgos Kyriakou, president of the Cyprus Association of Electrical Contractors, says wrong voltage on the EAC network damaged household appliances worth tens of thousands. Affected households and total cost remain unknown. EAC is aware but has not admitted responsibility. Kyriakou cites past smart‑meter incidents where promised full compensation was not paid — owners who spent about €5,000 received roughly €2,000. Paliometocho residents were told to replace items first and claim later, a heavy burden for low‑income families. He also flags alleged EAC billing errors for TV receivers. Residents await timing and amounts of compensation.

📝POED: Campaign to Improve Teacher Evaluation Law Continues
POED says it will continue efforts to correct and improve the newly adopted teacher evaluation law. The union expresses disappointment that the Ministry of Education submitted the bill unilaterally in May 2025 and that parties DISY, DIKO, DIPA and some independents voted it through despite many unresolved objections. POED says the law contains ambiguities, gaps and contradictions, widening the rift. Reports a rise in unsubstantiated complaints and demeaning behaviour toward teachers. The union vows to keep fighting to defend public schools and educators.

🔞 Scientists say men’s peak sexual activity occurs around the age of 35
Research shows that male sexual desire increases in the early 20s, reaches its peak between 30 and 40, and then gradually declines. However, many men over 60 remain highly active, especially when they maintain good health and a balanced lifestyle — something quite common in Cyprus.
Women show a different pattern: their highest level of sexual desire is usually observed between the ages of 20 and 30, after which it gradually decreases, with a more noticeable decline after 50.
