Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides said that the Cyprus issue is not a “frozen” conflict. According to him, nothing is over, and the situation can still change.

He explained that when problems are ignored for a long time, they can suddenly explode — as has happened in other parts of the world. That is why a divided Cyprus remains a risky situation for everyone living on the island.

The President believes that reunification would open up greater opportunities for people: stability, economic growth, and long-term security.

He also outlined Cyprus’ priorities within the European Union:
• strengthening Europe’s economy
• reducing dependence on other countries
• addressing everyday issues such as high energy costs, housing, and the impact of technology on young people

🚒 Alarm across Cyprus: fires broke out in three cities — Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca
Within just one day, a series of fires was recorded across Cyprus, affecting several regions of the island. In Limassol, two separate incidents occurred in the evening: first, a car caught fire in the Omonia area, reportedly due to a short circuit, and later a parked moped was seriously damaged by flames.

During the night, another fire broke out in Paphos, in the industrial zone. A van with a trailer was completely destroyed, while a passenger car also suffered significant damage. Both vehicles belong to a 62-year-old man.

A further incident was reported in Larnaca, in the Avdellero area, where a building near the Chapel of Agia Marina caught fire. The structure sustained severe damage and collapsed.
Fire services and police responded to all incidents. The causes of the fires are under investigation.
