Larnaca smart Parking barrier at Mackenzie deliberately damaged - Less than two weeks after the new automated system introduced (12/12/2025)
The new smart automated parking system in Larnaca is already facing problems, as one of the exit barriers appears to have been deliberately damaged — barely two weeks after the Municipality introduced the updated parking charges.

The video shows the barrier arm bent upwards and partially detached, with its lights still functioning but the mechanism clearly not operating as intended.

The incident occurred tonight, Thursday, 12 December, at one of the municipal paid parking areas (right-side exit) that recently switched to the upgraded automated system.

Late at night in the Mesa Geitonia area of Limassol, unknown individuals set car tires on fire directly on the roadway. The incident occurred around 23:40 and created a dangerous situation, as traffic was disrupted and drivers were forced to brake suddenly and detour around the area.
