⛵️Cyprus may accept second flotilla vessel for berthing today
Government spokesman says a request may arrive by end of day to berth a second vessel from the flotilla that carried humanitarian aid to Gaza. He noted that yesterday a ship entered Larnaca late and Cyprus would not refuse a docking call in its territorial waters; two people on board with chronic health issues received medical aid from ambulance staff at the port and did not require hospital transfer. All requested assistance was provided under prescribed procedures. Cyprus will respond to further berthing requests and offer needed help within its international obligations.

😢Claim: Sexual slavery in occupied north Cyprus for 25 years
Turkish Cypriot politician Derya Doğuş alleges widespread sexual slavery and exploitation in occupied north Cyprus over the past 25 years. Her social posts and parliamentary remarks prompted public concern and demands for an immediate, transparent investigation. Allegations link to the recent death of a young night‑club worker in Gerolakkos and suspicions of trafficking networks; civil society called for independent probes. Doğuş accused local authorities of tolerating or covering up abuses. International reports warn the island is vulnerable to trafficking and urge stronger victim protection and targeted prosecutions.

🐕🐾40,000 Animals to Be Euthanized, Claims of Dog Shootings
On World Animal Day authorities and NGOs discussed owners' duties, stray overpopulation and sterilization funding. Vets demonstrated microchip implantation; cost €30–35; owners urged to verify insertion. NGO head Natasha Michaeilidou says proposals—vets treating only microchipped dogs, cage standards, tiered licensing—were rejected. If unclaimed after 15 days municipalities may euthanize dogs; she estimates ~40,000 healthy animals are being put down—"this is a crime." Allegations of dogs shot in villages. Animal Police probe complaints but legal loopholes hinder action. Vets can neuter about 140,000 cats yearly.
