π Larnaca, 1999: Beaches, Tranquility, and Anticipation, the Color of Those Times
ποΈ Beaches: Finikoudes β the heart of tourism with cozy taverns and calm waters. Mackenzie β for the youth with water sports. Other beaches offer silence and simplicity. A traditional vacation without water parks and loud entertainment.
ποΈ City Life: A measured rhythm, authentic markets, and local shops. Attractions: Finikoudes promenade, St. Lazarus Church, and the Salt Lake. Infrastructure is on the rise, but there are no shopping malls. Tourism and construction are in an active phase.
π’ Politics: Acute pain from the division of the island, hope for EU accession. Leisure β lively taverns with music and summer Kataklysmos.
π Summary of 1999: Larnaca retains its charm, the beaches are soulful, and the city breathes tranquility and anticipation of change. The last year of the "old" era.
