We are looking for experienced Data Engineers to support data platform initiatives in the Microsoft Azure environment using Databricks. The ideal candidate has experience in building scalable data pipelines, implementing the medallion architecture, and migrating legacy data platforms to modern cloud-based solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines in Azure Databricks
Implementation and optimization of the medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers)
Migration of data marts and warehouses from environments such as Oracle or Hadoop to Azure Databricks
Execution of ETL/ELT processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from legacy systems
Ensuring data quality, governance, and security within the platform
Collaboration with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to define requirements
Supporting CI/CD and automation of data workflows
Troubleshooting issues in both production and development environments
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering
Hands-on experience with Databricks in the Azure environment
Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python
Experience in designing and implementing medallion architecture
Practical knowledge of Delta Lake, Apache Spark, and Databricks notebooks
Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps
Experience with data migration from Oracle, Hadoop, or other legacy platforms
Knowledge of data modeling, schema conversion, and data validation during migrations
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in the cloud
Experience with unit testing, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines
Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
Nice to Have
Certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks, Oracle/Hadoop migrations)
Experience with real-time data processing (Kafka, Structured Streaming)
Knowledge of MLflow, Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows
Experience in modernizing data warehouses and designing cloud-native architectures
