Mercuryo is looking for a Lead Data Engineer

At Mercuryo, we’re at the forefront of enhancing decentralized finance (DeFi) with innovative payment use cases. We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our Analytics Infrastructure team. Our team is responsible for collecting, processing, and storing all company data that drives business decisions and product analytics.
You will participate in developing a high-load analytical platform, work with Big Data, and build scalable solutions for data storage and processing. Your work will directly impact key business decisions and product development.


Your Role:
– Architectural design and development of our data warehouse (DWH).
– Designing and optimizing ETL processes for large data volumes.
– Migrating and optimizing our analytical infrastructure to modern DWH solutions.
– Working with analytical databases.
– Developing and maintaining data marts for business intelligence.
– Optimizing performance for analytical queries.
– Integrating with external data sources (including payment gateways).
– Managing data lifecycle in the warehouse.
– Ensuring data quality and consistency.
– Setting up monitoring and alerting for analytical infrastructure.
– Mentoring and knowledge sharing with less experienced team members.

What We're Looking For:
– 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and DWH architecture.
– Deep knowledge of SQL and experience optimizing complex analytical queries.
– Experience with analytical databases (ClickHouse or similar).
– Knowledge of modern cloud analytics solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
– Strong knowledge of Apache Airflow.
– Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT processes.
– Strong Python skills for data processing tasks.
– Understanding of data warehouse architectural principles.
– Experience working with large data volumes (10+ TB).
– Ability to work effectively in a distributed team.

Additional:
– Experience migrating between different analytical platforms.
– Knowledge of S3-compatible storage and related technologies.
– Experience with stream data processing.
– Experience in fintech or crypto industry.
– Familiarity with project management fundamentals (Jira, Scrum) as a team leader.
– Experience with ML/AI systems for analytics.
– Understanding of economics and finance fundamentals.

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer who will strengthen the team. You will report directly to the Head of PHP.

Responsibilities:
— Optimize the performance of PHP 8.1+ applications and troubleshoot issues.
— Maintain and develop new internal/external integrations with providers and microservices.
— Refactor and optimize existing monolithic code.
— Write unit tests to ensure code quality.
— Develop and document APIs.
— Conduct code reviews and participate in cross-reviews.
— Collaborate closely with the QA and Product teams.

Requirements:
— Ability to take responsibility for tasks and proactively address challenges.
— 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development.
— Familiarity with popular frameworks such as: Laravel, Symfony, and Yii.
— Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL), including the ability to build complex queries, work with aggregations, and optimize indexes. Understanding of transactions is also important.
— Experience with REST APIs.
— Familiarity with microservice architecture.
— Experience with Redis/Memcache for caching strategies.
— Practical experience with RabbitMQ or similar message brokers to build scalable, asynchronous systems.
— Understanding of shared resources, locks, idempotency, ACID principles, etc.
— Hands-on experience with Docker.

— Collaborate with SOC teams to monitor, respond to, and remediate security incidents.

Requirements:
— 5+ years of experience with Linux.
— 5+ years of experience in DevOps role with expertise in AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform.
— Proficiency in Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments and ArgoCD for GitOps workflows.
— Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
— Strong understanding of network security (OSI layers, TCP/IP) and cloud infrastructure hardening.
— Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and containerization (Docker).
— Scripting skills in Python, Bash for automation tasks.

Responsibilities:
— Managing relationships with corporate services providers in Cyprus and abroad, liaising with external legal advisors and government authorities on company law matters when required,
— Ensuring compliance with local and intragroup corporate requirements, articles and shareholders agreements, proper maintenace of statutory registers and filings with local authorities,
— Assisting with Board and shareholders communications, preparing agendas, resolutions and minutes meetings,
— Maintaining internal corporate compliance calendars, preparing and maintaining capital tables, maintaining accurate corporate archives,
— Drafting, reviewing, and management of basic legal contracts and agreements,
— Conduct basic legal research and assist with other corporate legal, governance and secretarial matters as required.

Requirements:
— Bachelor’s degree in Law, Corporate Governance or related field (or pursuing one), or experience and understanding of corporate secretarial practices, corporate law, and basic contracts,
— Familiarity with corporate governance concept and practices is a plus,
— Strong organizational skills with attention to detail,
— Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
