Hi, thank you for explaining, and I completely understand that with rescued animals it is impossible to know the final veterinary costs in advance.

However, the rules are not questioning your reputation, your experience as a rescuer, or the reputation of the charity. They apply equally to everyone in the group, regardless of how well known or experienced the person or organisation is.

The issue is that the original post asks for donations, but at this stage there is no veterinary invoice, estimate, treatment plan, or even an approximate amount being raised.

Of course, the final cost may change once the dogs have been examined and diagnosed. That is completely understandable. But after the veterinary visit, the clinic should be able to provide at least an initial estimate or invoice, and the fundraiser can then be posted with the relevant documentation and an initial target amount. If further treatment is required later, the amount can be updated together with the new veterinary documents.

Being a registered charity or a known rescuer does not replace the documentation required under the group rules. These requirements exist for transparency and must be the same for everyone.

You are very welcome to share the dogs’ story and updates in the meantime, but a fundraising request should meet the group’s fundraising requirements.
