The Cyprus Family Planning Association has published an animated video on its Facebook page, explaining the concept of sexual consent in a simple and humorous way aimed at young people.
The message is clear: “Sex is like souvlaki.” Through this metaphor, the video teaches how to behave during the stage before any sexual activity begins.

The short animation, voiced in the Cypriot Greek dialect, starts by comparing consent to offering someone a souvlaki. The question is simple: will the person say “Yes,” “No,” or “I’m not sure”?
According to the creators, the metaphor is “easy, relatable, and a little funny,” which helps teenagers understand the topic without embarrassment.

— “Sharing is great, but you must ask first,” the video says.

If the other person says “Yes,” then you can share the “souvlaki.”
But if they say “No” or “Not sure,” then sharing must not happen. The message is direct: no pressure, no convincing, no forcing — consent must be voluntary.

The animation also clarifies another important point:
if photos or videos were taken during this “meal,” they should only be shared online with the explicit permission of the other person.

The clip titled “Sex Is Like Souvlaki” quickly went viral on Facebook:
