Job Overview:
**
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost estimation, contract administration, and financial oversight for construction projects in Cyprus. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local construction laws, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) for construction projects. - Monitor project costs, track variations, and prepare interim and final valuations to ensure financial control. - Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve cost-related issues and ensure alignment with project goals. - Manage final accounts, including settlement of contractor claims and dispute resolution. - Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and industry best practices in Cyprus.
Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders on project financial performance and cost forecasts.
Ensure compliance with Cyprus construction regulations, building codes, and health & safety standards.
Conduct risk assessments and implement value engineering strategies to optimize project costs.
Administer contracts, including drafting tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating terms with contractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Certifications: Membership with the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ΕΤΕΚ) or internationally recognized certifications (e.g., RICS) is a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Cyprus construction laws, tendering processes, and contract types (e.g., FIDIC).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to work under pressure.
Languages: Fluency in English and Greek (written and spoken) is essential.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the Cyprus construction industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling).
Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and green building certifications.
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial projects in Cyprus.
