Senior Backend Engineer/Lead Developer

Job Summary
CAPTELA (https://captela.com/) is looking for a multi-talented senior backend engineer with 7+ years of engineering experience to architect, develop and design for an established Fintech project with global reach. This is a key role in the technical department, requiring effective leadership and communication skills as well as the ability to lead from a technical standpoint, offering expertise, solutions and input to complex problems. The ideal candidate should have experience working on the full lifecycle of a SaaS development project and work well in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Oversee the project from an architectural standpoint, ensuring high performance, low latency, high availability, and high reliability; Maintain the highest coding standards & employ microservices, SOLID & DRY principles.
Design, engineer and lead the backend project; Build APIs for new core features and custom extensions & integrations in order to expand our products appeal and reach; identify pain points and drive improvements and refactoring as required, ensuring scalability and quality of code.
Attend daily stand ups and monthly sync meetings to align expectations and contribute to planning;
Motivate those around you to make the platform better through your presence and contributions.
Provide guidance and mentoring to those less senior.


Qualifications/Skills/ Experience:

Required:
Strong Golang (>=1.13)
Strong MySQL, PHP (>=7.1)
Multithreading, microservices architecture
Linux/Ubuntu basic administration, gRPC/Protobuf
Go dependency management tool, Go modules
REST, Advanced Git understanding,
Laravel
Demonstrable experience building and managing highly scalable, highly available, and performant systems.
Ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and provide direction on projects that involve various levels of professionals
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and able to effectively communicate in both oral and written presentations to all levels in the organization
Language skills: English full professional proficiency


Highly desirable:
Gorm ORM, Gin gonic router, Go Twirp RPC framework, RabbitMQ, Web Sockets, Swagger, Docker compose, Make tool.


Desirable:
AWS (S3, EC2, Cloudwatch, ECR)
Kubernetes knowledge
Nginx, Bash scripts, Ansible, Bitbucket pipelines, uber-go/dig library, basic understanding of TypeScript or even Angular, K8s, systemd, Traefik.

Location & Working hours:

Ideally you will be located in or near Nicosia, Cyprus where CAPTELA has operational offices.

Captela employs a hybrid working model with an emphasis on remote and flexible working arrangements.

Working hours are 9.00 - 17:00 CET Mon-Fri with a degree of flexibility available.
