Dear members,
I’m pleased to share that my photographic monograph “Ammochostos – The Algos of Nostos” has been accepted and cataloged by the MoMA Library (Museum of Modern Art), New York.
For me, this is not simply a title in a catalog. It carries greater weight than an “award.”
It is a form of institutional record: a work about a place where time “stalled,” which can stand as visual testimony and remain accessible to researchers, curators, and readers in the future.
The work developed slowly through repeated, carefully planned visits to the enclosed city of Famagusta (Varosha) and conversations with people for whom the place remains lived history. A memory that persists against oblivion.
An attempt to seek a “visual historical truth”: to render trace and silence without “explaining” them. To keep them present where presence often feels like absence.
The first edition is sold out.
